Check your local building guidelines
Ensure your property is permitted to have a container home. This varies widely by city, township and county. Consider if you want to tie into public utilities, require septic, or are you taking this thing off grid? When constructing onsite, we'll adhere to all known codes, permitting & inspection requirements. Deposits are non-refundable unless HIAB fails to meet our contracted work.
Consider Delivery Logistics
Is your job site accessible from the road? Do we need special equipment like a crane to position your container? Is the terrain impassible for a semi-truck hauling a 53' flatbed or tilt-bed? All things to consider! Thankfully, we've partnered with a first-class logistics company to handle all shipping/delivery. You're in good hands!
Select your Plan
Choose from our floor plans. Think about how you'll situate this on your property - what do you want to see out the bedroom or office window? Where does the sun rise and set?
Prepare the Land!
Does a concrete foundation need poured? Are you putting this up on blocks or railroad ties for sub-grade access? When the container arrives to your property, it will be rolled off a flatbed truck. Ensure there's a proper landing spot for it. If we're building onsite, we will partner in the site work if requested.
Select your Finishes
Choose your cabinet color, flooring, lighting package, and exterior paint from our menu of options. Want shiplap instead of drywall? Hardwood instead of vinyl? No problem! We've sourced a trustworthy assortment that we're willing to put our name behind.
Pay your Deposit
Construction begins after your deposit. If not paying cash, consider all the financing options such as construction loans, conventional mortgages, HELOC, etc.

Make your Final Payment
Once your container dwelling is complete, it's time to pay your balance and take occupancy.
